Meet Our Orthodontists in Woodstock
Sunya Sweeney, DMD, grew up in Peachtree City, Georgia, and loves to watch her patients transform during treatment. Sweeney attended Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, as an undergraduate and moved to Augusta, Georgia, to earn her DMD at the Medical College of Georgia.
She then completed a general practice residency at New York Methodist Hospital and an orthodontic residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In 2015, Sweeney was board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics — something only 1 in 3 orthodontists achieve. When she’s not in the office, Sweeney enjoys painting, drawing, playing tennis and running, as well as spending time with her family.
Originally from the Midwest, Dr. Jessica Piepenbrink brings a strong commitment to patient care and community involvement to her orthodontic practice. After completing her specialty training, she spent more than five years practicing in her hometown region of the Quad Cities, serving patients throughout northwest Illinois and northeast Iowa.
Dr. Piepenbrink earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Southern Illinois University before continuing her education at Saint Louis University, where she received her Master of Science degree and certificate in Orthodontics. She is an active member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists and serves on leadership committees for both organizations, reflecting her commitment to advancing the profession and supporting high-quality patient care.
What Dr. Piepenbrink enjoys most about orthodontics is building meaningful relationships with patients and becoming part of the communities she serves. She values the opportunity to work alongside patients throughout their smile journey and finds it especially rewarding to help them achieve the confident, healthy smiles they envision.
Outside the office, Dr. Piepenbrink enjoys long-distance running, hiking, traveling, and attending musical theater performances. She is also an avid sports fan who enjoys following baseball, football, and Formula 1 racing. At home, she loves spending time with her two goldendoodles, Louie and Ralphie.

We have waited anywhere between 5 and 15 minutes after our scheduled appointment time for the door to be unlocked on numerous occasions. We schedule our appointment early so my child can make it to school on time. Everything else is fantastic. If it were not for this one issue, I would have given 5 stars.”
