Meet our Orthodontists in Wausau
Dr. John Dovorany currently lives in Wausau, WI with his wife, Renee, and their three sons: Nick, Charlie, and Frank. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling to see his boys play hockey, and entertaining friends and colleagues. He is an avid hunter and fisherman who loves the great outdoors. Each member of Dr. Dovorany’s family has worn braces, including Dr. Dovorany himself! This means that he completely understands the unique challenges and advantages of wearing orthodontic braces.
Dr. Dovorany has been practicing orthodontics in Wausau for 25 years, and is a member of several local, state, national, and international dental and orthodontic associations. He is the presiding President of the Spear Study Club in Central Wisconsin, and devotes an extraordinary amount of his time exchanging knowledge and collaborating with dental peers on patient care. He is also a provider for the Smiles Change Lives organization, a nonprofit through which donated orthodontic treatment is provided for certain segments of the underserved population.

“My daughter and I both came in for a consultation. Her for first time treatment and me for a touch up. Everything went great. Everyone was friendly and most importantly Dr Dovorany took the time to appease my daughter’s curiosity and help her feel comfortable. Unfortunately I later found out that they were out of my insurance network and I had almost no coverage for treatment. I did the responsible thing and got another consultation at another place nearby. The in network office really was a significant financial savings. They also were quoting us a MUCH more invasive treatment including extractions and far more time, their equipment was dated and the doctor did not take the time to make my daughter feel comfortable at all. In fact, the doctor basically talked through her. Long story still long, even though I had almost no insurance coverage for Dovorany, we made our orthodontic decision based on the treatment plan and experience they provided us. I am confident we made the right choice and will begin our treatment in the next few weeks.”
