Meet Our Orthodontists in Waco
Born and raised in New Jersey, Andrew Syvertsen received his Bachelor of Science (BS) Boston College
. He then attended Columbia University in the City of New York, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). After graduating from dental school, he completed a one-year General Practice Residency (GPR) at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. He then returned to New York City and completed his three year residency in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics at Maimonides Medical Center, serving as chief resident.
After several years of creating beautiful smiles in private practice in New York City, Dr Syvertsen and his wife decided it was time for a change with their family growing. They couldn’t be happier with their decision to put down roots in Texas. Outside of the office Dr Syvertsen and his family can be found searching for the best pizza & bagels in Texas (please offer him your suggestions), rooting for the New York Mets baseball team, and enjoying all of the great local breweries & live music.

“I don’t come often since I’m a former patient of Dr. Kerns and don’t have braces anymore. I only visit for clear retainer and bonded retainer purposes. However, my previous visit wasn’t great so I was so nervous to come back. There were so many issues with the service but the hygienist seemed nice so I didn’t complain. The glue/bonding was hitting my bottom teeth, my impressions had to be taken several times (which isn’t an issue) but she would pull the trays out while still wet resulting in the mixture all over my face and mouth, and the corners of my lips had split and bled a little from the tray she was using being too big although I told her I had a small mouth opening. Someone else actually had to end up getting them and got it on the first try. I was actually contemplating going to a new orthodontist office after that. I told myself I would stick it out since I had purchased the clear retainer insurance already and it was pretty pricey. I’m so glad I did!! I had Victoria today and we replaced my whole bonded retainer and had no issues! Process was smooth and the best part, my bottom teeth don’t hit it. The lady upfront was also so nice but I didn’t catch her name. Needless to say, I don’t feel scared to come anymore! Thanks ladies!”
