Meet Our Orthodontists in Starkville
Dr. R. Todd Gililland earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mississippi and his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry. He further specialized in cosmetic and implant dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed his orthodontic residency at New York University.
Dr. Gililland’s journey into orthodontics began during his freshman year of college when he was inspired by a conversation with Dr. Bishop, the founder of the practice he would one day join. He has been practicing since 2002 and currently serves six of the seven practice locations.
Dr. Gililland is known for his patient-centric approach. He not only aims to build long-term relationships with his patients but also provide them with a compassionate and humorous experience.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Gililland enjoys duck hunting, fishing, golf, and SEC football. He is married to his wife, Tiffany, and together they have three children.
Dr. Britton Montgomery is a specialist in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. She grew up in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and attended college at the University of Southern Mississippi where she graduated summa cum laude and received her bachelor’s degree in biology with an emphasis in molecular biology.
After completing college, Dr. Montgomery completed four years of dental school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She graduated magna cum laude with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and was selected as a member of the National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Following dental school, Dr. Montgomery received her certificate in advanced general dentistry at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Montgomery then completed a residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics and obtained a Master of Science degree in dentistry at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia.
Dr. Montgomery and her husband established SmartSmile Orthodontics in 2009 to serve the orthodontic needs in Madison, Mississippi, and the surrounding communities. They have two daughters, Mary Alex and Finleigh, and a son, Gates; they are very excited on their new adventure in the Golden Triangle!
