Meet Our Orthodontists in Portage
Dr. Chris Wang was born and raised in Chengdu, China, where he completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, orthodontic residency, and PhD. at Sichuan University, the nation’s first dental school. He later advanced his training at The Ohio State University, earning a Master of Science and a certificate in orthodontics. While there, he received top honors including the Dr. William R. Proffit Research Award, the prestigious Harry Sicher Award, and the IADR Award for student excellence in orthodontics.
In addition to practicing orthodontics, Dr. Wang serves as part of the dean’s faculty at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. For over a year, he has enjoyed working alongside his team and caring for patients in the Portage community, where he continues to build lasting connections.
Outside of the office, Dr. Wang is an avid traveler and adventurer, with experiences ranging from hiking in Patagonia to skydiving in New Zealand. He also enjoys photography, exploring the food scene in Grand Rapids, golfing, and staying active!
