Meet Our Orthodontists in Novi – W 10
Dr. Mackie is a metro-Detroit native and lifelong Michigander! She has always had a passion for dentistry, but most importantly she loves developing and maintaining personal connections with people. She decided to pursue a career in orthodontics so that she could spend quality time with a variety of patients and help give them the smile of their dreams.
She went to the University of Michigan and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in evolutionary anthropology with high distinction. She then stuck around U of M for dental school and orthodontic residency—making her a Wolverine for life! During residency, she obtained her Master of Science degree by researching CBCT biomarkers in the articular fossa for early signs of temporomandibular joint disease.
In her free time, Dr. Mackie enjoys spending time with her husband, Albert, and her friends and family. She and her husband love giving back to the community, traveling, attending Broadway musicals, and trying new restaurants!
Dr. Bork is a native Michigander and a longtime Metro Detroit resident.
Even as a child, Dr. Bork knew he had a calling for orthodontics. When he was 13, he was recognized in his local newspaper for his volunteer efforts, and in his interview, he told the paper that he would become a Harvard-trained orthodontist.
Dr. Bork is glad to have the opportunity to create beautiful, confident smiles in a community that he calls home. He says that the most rewarding part of his job is forming lasting relationships with the patients and families who trust him to deliver world-class orthodontic treatment.
He attended Central Michigan University as an undergraduate and received his doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. He graduated summa cum laude from Harvard Medical School, where he received his Master of Medical Science in oral biology.
Dr. Bork and his wife Taylor, a dental hygienist, share a passion for all things smiles. They enjoy giving back to the community, spending time in the great outdoors, making music, and of course, TEETH. They even had a tooth-themed wedding cake!
Dr. Fraser is a Metro Detroit native, born and raised in Port Huron.
Dentistry has always been a significant part of his life, as both his father and older sister are practicing general dentists. His mother is a dental hygienist and the office manager for their family practice.
Dr. Fraser grew up an avid hockey player and was fortunate enough to represent numerous US National Teams. He played four years of varsity NCAA Division I hockey at Harvard and was elected team captain his senior season.
After one year playing professional hockey, he decided to pursue a career in dentistry where he attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. After dental school, he completed three years of orthodontic specialty training at the University at Buffalo where he researched the anatomical limits of tooth movement, utilizing 3-D imaging technology to improve efficiency and treatment success in orthodontics.
In his spare time, he enjoys running marathons, playing ice hockey, water and snow skiing, and reading.
Dr. Fraser and his wife, Alyssa, a pediatric nurse practitioner, live locally and love spending time with their two sons, James and Oliver.
Originally from Rochester Hills, MI, Dr. Julia Mastracci completed her undergraduate degree in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Later, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, where she also received her specialty certificate and Master’s degree in Orthodontics. Dr. Mastracci is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction that reflects her commitment to the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient care.
Dr. Mastracci is proficient in using a variety of treatment techniques, including fixed appliances, clear aligners, and managing early interceptive, interdisciplinary, surgical, and craniofacial/cleft cases. She has also utilized cutting-edge technologies such as custom 3D printed brackets, TADs, miniscrew-assisted expansion, and soft tissue laser therapy.
Dr. Mastracci is motivated to have the same positive impact on her patients that her TDR orthodontist had on her when she was a kid. Being part of such transformative journeys for patients of all ages is truly inspiring. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her fiancee Gino, taking her golden retriever puppy Cannoli for long walks, and soaking up the sun lakeside with her family.

Patient Reviews
“I had such a great experience at TDR. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. It was so convenient to be able to do Invisalign from home without having to make a bunch of appointments. As a busy mom, I don’t have a lot of time to add more stuff into my schedule, and this made it doable for me. I’m so glad I decided to do this for myself!”
“Son just finished his phase 1 set of braces. Appointments couldn’t have gone any smoother. Staff is always friendly and helpful if we have any questions. Highly recommend them.”
“I’ve used TDR for both of my children with great results. Everyone is so friendly and helpful.”
“I’m giving 4 stars because my most recent experience wasn’t as pleasant as the previous ones :(. But overall, I have had a positive experience with TDR Novi. It’s been two months since my braces were removed :). Over the past two years, TDR not only gave me a beautiful set of teeth but also provided me with one of the best dental clinic experience of my life. The care and professionalism they demonstrated far exceeded my expectations, confirming that choosing TDR from the other four local clinics was the best decision I could have made. Before starting my treatment, I consulted four orthodontic clinics in both the Novi and Ann Arbor areas because my dental situation was quite complicated, and I was already 28 years old. Each clinic offered a different treatment plan, but none could promise the ideal results I was hoping for. TDR was the last clinic I visited, and the doctor was very honest during the initial evaluation, explaining that given my age and condition, the final results might not be perfect. However, he used his professional knowledge and past experience to tailor a personalized orthodontic plan for me. This honest and professional approach, free of false promises, is what ultimately led me to choose TDR (even though I had to drive an hour from Ann Arbor for every appointment). Over the past two years, the doctor’s professionalism, patience, and willingness to answer all my questions during each visit gave me increasing confidence in both the clinic and the final results of my treatment. They never overlooked any of my concerns or doubts, whether subjective or objective, and always took the time to thoroughly examine and provide solutions. I especially want to thank Dr. Niles, who was always so polite, friendly, and professional. He would often come to the clinic on Fridays when no other doctors were available (due to my work schedule, Friday was often the only day I could come in). He meticulously checked every small concern I had and used his many years of teaching and clinical experience to explain the causes of the issues and their solutions, which made me feel particularly reassured. I’d also like to give a special shoutout to Rachel and Danielle, the two orthodontic assistants at TDR Novi. Rachel was always so friendly and professional, and she could clearly and accurately convey every small request of mine to the doctor. Her way of thinking always prioritized me as the patient, and she never dismissed any of my feelings. She was always very empathetic, which made me feel particularly at ease throughout the treatment process. A few times after seeing the doctor, when the front desk was busy with phone calls, Rachel would kindly call me to her workspace and use her computer to book my next appointment. Seeing her always put me at ease – she felt like a good friend who was always thoughtful and considerate. Danielle was another orthodontic assistant who helped me once, but that single experience left a lasting impression on me. Danielle was always so gentle; she would explain each step before performing it and reassure me not to worry. When she was helping me with the elastics, she would thoughtfully ask if I was uncomfortable or if the wires were poking my mouth. I was concerned that I might be asking too many questions during one appointment, but Danielle reassured me with a smile, saying, “We want to make you happy.” Thank you TDR Novi and all staff who helped me!”
“My experience at TDR Orthodontics has been life changing. Every appointment was super quick (mostly online, I rarely came in) and my doctor was extremely knowledgeable throughout the entire process. I was able to complete treatment ahead of time with no issues and I am extremely satisfied with my smile. Thank you Team TDR! I will always be grateful to you all!”
