As a brilliant example of a modern-day working mother, Doc. Meggy’s passion for enhancing smiles and the lives of her offspring results in a balancing act rarely seen outside of gold-medal Olympic gymnasts.

She is completely driven to keep learning, improving, and evolving as an orthodontist and person. While somewhat exhausting to watch, this quality gives her friends, patients, and patient-friends confidence that the care they receive from her is undoubtedly cutting-edge and top-notch. She also successfully puts up with Dr. Matt. Poor woman ;).

On top of this, the doctor is an avid sports fan (Michigan Football, UNC Basketball, Panthers, and Hornets), expert skier, floats across the fresh pow pow like her skis are on clouds; effortless, silky, smooth. Along w/ skydiving, she has also bungee-jumped off a super tall bridge in Switzerland.

Academics & Training:

Aside from her studies at Fenton High School, she excelled at basketball, softball, and social butterflying. Purdue University was her college of choice. She majored in health sciences, minored in psychology. BOILER UP!

She’s soooooo worldy! Doc. Meggy ventured abroad for a semester to the prestigious Oriel College at the University of Oxford in England.

University of Michigan landed this sought-after dental draft pick as a member of the class of 2008.

After she graduated at the top of her class with honors, she decided to begin her career as a general dentist and support her income-less orthodontic resident husband.

When she saw how much fun Dr. Matt was having, she decided to join him a year later in the orthodontics program at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Matt Lineberger fancies himself the ‘vision guy’ for the practice, which really means he gets to jump around and say crazy things like, “Let’s put a big adult slide in the office” and others have to figure out how to actually do it.

Eternal optimist, coffee addict, can’t really grow facial hair, and literally loves showing up to work each and every day to chat it up, fist bump, sing and dance, and enhance some smiles as well, obvi. Nothing else in the world this guy would rather be doing, except maybe searching the web for retro Air Jordans.

Although a lifelong Tarheel by birth, Doc Mateo spent most of his life in East Grand Rapids, MI, where he attended the high school the American Pie movie trilogy was based on.

When his pops thought Matt and his two younger brothers were playing too much Nintendo, he decided to move the family to the British Virgin Islands, where they were homeschooled on a sailboat for a year.

He is a Degenerate Sneakerhead.

Dr. Matt played shooting guard at Wake Forest University his freshman year – he made one basket.

He is an avid fan and connoisseur of horrible movies: The Room, Gymkata, Troll 2, and most LMN movies are his absolute favorites; he will discuss these with anyone who will listen.

The dude loves some music – which you will know immediately upon entering our smile shop.

Like Dr. Megan, he also produced a long (84-page) rich and supple leather-bound thesis with the world-famous orthodontist Dr. James McNamara to earn his master’s degree.

Has a really smart-sounding paper published in the prestigious American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics titled Effects of Rapid Maxillary Expansion in Hyperdivergent Patients.

Dr. Matt is also an American Board of Orthodontics-certified orthodontist.
