“While I do appreciate the great care Fishbein has provided my daughter through her orthodontic journey, I am giving 4 stars not because of the care but because of billing issues and lack of accurate information between the accounting department and the office staff or whoever answers the phones. I have on many different occasions been told we owed a balance for retainers that she hasn’t even had on her teeth yet and once I got that resolved, now there is a new issue and disconnect between billing and office by stating I owe $3000, first saying plan was terminated(I provided updated insurance information on 2 separate occasions) then after not feeling confident and honestly irritated that they had not gotten the insurance updated, I call back to be told it’s a credentialing issue because tax ids change every year. My profession is medical billing and I know tax ids do not change yearly so I called back and spoke with Ashley who confirmed I did not owe, there was no credentialing issue but a continuation of care had been submitted and was pending processing but assured me I did not owe the balance as stated by the previous reps. I am grateful for Ashley providing this information and have kept her information to use in the future instead of trying to get any information from anyone else. Insurance is a nightmare, no one understands these issues more than I do and I try to be as patient as possible and because of my knowledge, I know what contractual obligations apply to me but many people do not know these things and could pose problematic when being provided incorrect information like this and could be costly to patients and their parents. I do highly recommend Fishbein for orthodontics, the dr and staff are kind, efficient and knowledgeable but I do think there needs to be more communication between billing and office.”
