Dr. Gabriel Valencia was born in Colombia and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, as a child. He later relocated to New York, where his journey toward a career in dentistry began to take shape. After earning his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University, Dr. Gabe went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and complete his orthodontic specialty training at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.
During his time at Buffalo, he developed advanced skills in creating beautiful, functional smiles tailored to each patient’s needs. Now back in North Carolina, Dr. Gabe feels deeply fulfilled caring for patients of all ages — right here in the community he first called home.
Outside the office, Dr. Gabe loves traveling the world, cooking, exploring hiking trails, rollerblading, and has recently gotten involved in weightlifting. Whether discovering new cuisines abroad, staying active, or enjoying the great outdoors close to home, he brings the same passion for exploration and connection that he shares with his patients every day.

“Be wary of the billing policies at this location and anything you sign. I had my son’s braces treatment here. The told me the total cost for the treatment after checking with my insurance. I paid them the amount they told me. On my 3rd or 4th visit , i.e. after 6 months, they asked me to pay $350 more before my son’s treatment could proceed. When I asked for details, they said the initial payment was just and estimate and your insurance didn’t pay in full. When I told that this not something I was told when I signed up for the treatment, they said you don’t have to pay and you can take it up with insurance. But that didn’t help as I was not the one who spoke to insurance at the beginning. This is frustrating as if this was the case they should have asked me to check with insurance in the beginning. They want me to fix something this office messed up. When they realized their mistake was on their end and I was not notified of these things, their financial controller Audrey said in a very rude tone “you signed the contract !!!” . This was something they send in email asking to complete patient registration. Deceptive practices. Hope my review helps future patients. EDIT : The HR team reached out after escalation and they acknowledged the gaps in their training and agreed to cover the additional charges.”
