Dr. Claire Fedore grew up in East Lansing, Michigan, where her father, an all-star dentist and lifelong Michigan State Spartans fan, introduced her to dentistry at an early age. After experiencing orthodontic treatment herself to correct a missing lateral incisor, Dr. Claire became fascinated by the artistry and science of moving teeth and knew she wanted to pursue orthodontics.

She spent 11 years in Ann Arbor, earning her undergraduate degree in Environmental Chemicals and Disease from the University of Michigan before completing dental school in 2013 and her orthodontic residency in 2016. During residency, she served as chief resident and program president and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. She also served as first author on a publication in Orthodontics and Craniofacial Research, exploring the use of polycaprolactone scaffolds in craniofacial tissue mineralization.

Dr. Claire brings an artistic eye for smile design, careful attention to detail, and an organized approach to creating efficient, individualized treatment plans. She enjoys getting to know her patients and helping them feel confident throughout their orthodontic journey.

Outside of the office, Dr. Claire remains a die-hard Michigan State Spartans fan, despite her years as a Wolverine. She enjoys skiing, fly fishing, reading, crossword puzzles, musicals, coffee, and spending time at Walloon Lake and in Montana. She has also been skydiving in Tanzania over Mount Kilimanjaro and hopes to climb it someday.

Dr. Matt Lineberger fancies himself the ‘vision guy’ for the practice, which really means he gets to jump around and say crazy things like, “Let’s put a big adult slide in the office” and others have to figure out how to actually do it.

Eternal optimist, coffee addict, can’t really grow facial hair, and literally loves showing up to work each and every day to chat it up, fist bump, sing and dance, and enhance some smiles as well, obvi. Nothing else in the world this guy would rather be doing, except maybe searching the web for retro Air Jordans.

Although a lifelong Tarheel by birth, Doc Mateo spent most of his life in East Grand Rapids, MI, where he attended the high school the American Pie movie trilogy was based on.

When his pops thought Matt and his two younger brothers were playing too much Nintendo, he decided to move the family to the British Virgin Islands, where they were homeschooled on a sailboat for a year.

He is a Degenerate Sneakerhead.

Dr. Matt played shooting guard at Wake Forest University his freshman year – he made one basket.

He is an avid fan and connoisseur of horrible movies: The Room, Gymkata, Troll 2, and most LMN movies are his absolute favorites; he will discuss these with anyone who will listen.

The dude loves some music – which you will know immediately upon entering our smile shop.

Like Dr. Megan, he also produced a long (84-page) rich and supple leather-bound thesis with the world-famous orthodontist Dr. James McNamara to earn his master’s degree.

Has a really smart-sounding paper published in the prestigious American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics titled Effects of Rapid Maxillary Expansion in Hyperdivergent Patients.

Dr. Matt is also an American Board of Orthodontics-certified orthodontist.

Dr. Gabriel Valencia was born in Colombia and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, as a child. He later relocated to New York, where his journey toward a career in dentistry began to take shape. After earning his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University, Dr. Gabe went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and complete his orthodontic specialty training at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.

During his time at Buffalo, he developed advanced skills in creating beautiful, functional smiles tailored to each patient’s needs. Now back in North Carolina, Dr. Gabe feels deeply fulfilled caring for patients of all ages — right here in the community he first called home.

Outside the office, Dr. Gabe loves traveling the world, cooking, exploring hiking trails, rollerblading, and has recently gotten involved in weightlifting. Whether discovering new cuisines abroad, staying active, or enjoying the great outdoors close to home, he brings the same passion for exploration and connection that he shares with his patients every day.
