Orthodontists in Baltimore

Dr. Amanda Gallagher Whetzel was born and raised in Reading, Pennsylvania, and attended James Madison University in Virginia, where she played women’s varsity field hockey and received Division I Academic-Athlete honors, graduating with a degree in health administration. She received her DMD degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA where she graduated at the top of her class, receiving the Herbert G. Lampson, M.D. Award for the most outstanding senior woman student. Dr. Gallagher went on to study orthodontics at the University of Maryland, receiving her orthodontics specialty certificate and master’s degree in oral biology (MS) in 2011.

  After residency, Dr. Gallagher worked as a private practice orthodontist in the suburbs of Boston, MA and Frederick, MD for 18 months prior to purchasing an existing orthodontic practice in Nottingham, Maryland from a retiring orthodontist. She worked over the next several years to grow the practice, expanding the business and building five unique office locations in Perry Hall, Abingdon, Harbor Point, Columbia, and Cross Keys along with her husband, Ben, an attorney and the practice/regional manager.

Dr. Gallagher is committed to excellence in education and technology in the profession and regularly speaks locally and nationally amongst her peers. She offers a unique perspective to orthodontics by focusing on full facial and smile esthetics, performs a significant amount of surgical orthodontic treatment, and offers Botox for TMJ in her practice. Dr. Gallagher is an Invisalign® Diamond Plus Top 1% Provider and the leading provider of Invisalign® in Maryland, as well as the leading provider of InBrace in the Mid-Atlantic. She has published in the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics and has been recognized as a Top Orthodontist for the last ten years in a row by Baltimore Magazine’s annual dentist peer survey.

 ​ Dr. Gallagher runs the practice with her husband Ben, and they live in Towson with their three young sons and two dogs. In her spare time, Dr. Gallagher enjoys traveling, interior design, fashion, exercise, the beach, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Lisa Veselovsky was born and raised in Kings Park, New York. She attended the University of Delaware, obtaining her Bachelor of Science in both finance and economics. After five years of working in the fashion industry in New York City and completion of prerequisites at Columbia University, Dr. Veselovsky continued her education at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Recognized for her outstanding academic achievements, Dr. Veselovsky was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society. Dr. Veselovsky then completed her orthodontic residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City, earning her certificate in orthodontics.

Dr. Veselovsky believes that everyone deserves a smile they can be proud of! She strives to create a positive, meaningful experience for her patients and is grateful to be a part of their transformation!  Her professional affiliations include the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Society of Orthodontists, and Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists.

Dr. Veselovsky joined AGO in 2019, and in her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, fashion, and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Mair Chaluparambil was born and raised in Rocky Hill, CT. She attended the University of Connecticut where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology. She continued her education at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, served as the chapter president of the American Student Dental Association, and was honored with the ASDA National President of the Year Award. Dr. Chaluparambil went on to complete her orthodontic residency at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine where she obtained her certificate in orthodontics, completed a master’s thesis research project on Invisalign® outcomes in teenagers, and served as the chief resident. After the profound impact orthodontic treatment had on the quality of her life, she enjoys helping her patients achieve their dream smiles with personalized care.

Her professional affiliations include the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), the American Dental Association (ADA), Maryland State Society of Orthodontists (MSSO), and Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists (MASO).

Dr. Chaluparambil joined AGO in 2023, and in her free time she enjoys playing volleyball, fitness classes, long walks, traveling, and spending time with loved ones.

Dr. Marisa Romeo was born and raised in New Jersey. She graduated summa cum laude with a BS in biological sciences from Adelphi University in New York. Dr. Romeo later earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated top of her class.

Dr. Romeo proudly served as a captain in the United States Air Force, practicing general dentistry for six years. She then pursued advanced training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, where she obtained her certificate in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics along with a Master of Science degree in dentistry.

Her professional affiliations include the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), American Association of Orthodontists (ABO), American Dental Association (ADA), Maryland State Society of Orthodontists (MSSO), and Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists (MASO).

Outside of the office, Dr. Romeo enjoys traveling, joining new workout classes, assembling jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends!

Dr. Blum was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She attended the University of Maryland and graduated with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in neurobiology and physiology and psychology. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.

Dr. Blum then moved to Pittsburgh to complete her orthodontic residency at the University of Pittsburgh, where she received both her orthodontic certificate and Master of Science in Dentistry.

With a strong patient-centered approach, Dr. Blum customizes every treatment plan to reflect each patient’s unique needs. She strives to provide compassionate, empathetic and high-quality care. For Dr. Blum, the most rewarding part of orthodontics is building meaningful relationships and witnessing the joy of patients seeing their new smiles for the first time.

In her free time, Dr. Blum enjoys playing golf, taking Pilates and barre classes, traveling, skiing, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She is also a big Ravens and Orioles fan.
