Meet Our Orthodontists in Ankeny
A native Texan, Dr. Lynn Hurst graduated from Southwestern University in 1979 with a degree in biology and minor in chemistry. In 1984, he received his DDS with honors from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, followed by his certificate and MS in orthodontics from the University of Oklahoma.
Upon graduation, Dr. Hurst entered private practice in San Antonio, Texas, where he practiced orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics for 20 years. After 1 year in practice, he joined the faculty at his dental alma mater, UTHSCSA, and has been involved in orthodontic education and research ever since.
In addition to being a board-certified orthodontist, Dr. Hurst is a member of and actively involved in numerous professional organizations. He also had the distinct privilege of serving as Founding Dean for the College of Dental Medicine at the Roseman University of Health Sciences, and served as the as the Founding President, CEO, and orthodontist at Texas Orthodontics from 2009-2020. Now, Dr. Hurst is proud to continue serving patients and creating confident smiles in Illinois!
