Our Orthodontists in Longview – Bill Owens
Michael Scott wants his patients and their families to feel truly valued and well cared for under his treatment.
Scott earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Arlington. He then attended the University of Tennessee in Memphis, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Science, and then Baylor College of Dentistry, where he earned his master degree and specialized in orthodontics.
Scott is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southwestern Society of Orthodontists, Texas Association of Orthodontists, Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, among other organizations. He also enjoys teaching orthodontics and has written articles for Ormco and 3M Unitek.
Scott is also passionate about a ministry project he helped found. Beds of Hope builds and delivers beds to foster children in Gregg and surrounding counties. Matthew 25:45 “Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.”
Outside of the office, Scott likes to golf and snow ski as well as spending time with his family.
Larry Goates enjoys getting to know patients and has treated generations of families in his practice.
Goates received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Baylor College of Dentistry. He taught operative dentistry and practiced general dentistry for a year prior to his earning his Master of Science in Orthodontics from Baylor College of Dentistry.
Goates has been practicing orthodontics for decades – 21 as a professor of orthodontics in the Baylor Orthodontic Department. He has also lectured on various orthodontic topics in the US, Europe, Mexico, and Asia.
Goates is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of the American Orthodontic Association and Southwest Society of Orthodontists, as well as several other prestigious organizations.
Outside of the office, Goates enjoys spending time with family, traveling, dining out, and going to the movies.
